Sherlock Holmes Review
Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law star as Victorian England’s dynamic detective duo and have a unmissible fantastic together. Mark Strong plays the villain, Lord Blackwood and does an inredible job to bring dark element to the movie. Rachel McAdams is the typical sexy stereotypical woman that everyone will fall in love whith. Nearly everyone in the film gives tremendous performances, but McAdams’, playing the role of Holmes lover, Irene Adler, (a.k.a Miss Requisite Sex Appeal) had no business being in the film at all, only to bring a seductive theme amd spice up the trailer in a tight red corset in a scene that never made it into the actual film.
Visually the film is brilliant with innovative camerawork, dynamic sets, and fitting costuming of the era which shows off the best of the period without going over the top. The dialogue is snappy and consistently funny and again I have to emphasise how brilliantly it was delivered by Downey and Law in their bickering repartee.
I would certainly recommend this film to anyone as it is an action filled blockbuser, with a romantic subtle element and a consistent humour throughout the film.
